Nostradamus was full of it, first of all. And I can’t be bothered with this 2012 nonsense, I’m still trying to recover from the Y2K catastrophe that everyone had predicted. And did you know that detonating an atomic weapon could start a chain reaction that ignites earth’s entire atmosphere?!?! THE SKY IS FALLING!! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!!!

if the world does end, well we are all going to go so don’t feel bad. And personally I think it is bull because the Mayans also predicted the arrival of a god, and when Cortes landed he was not a god, if any thing he was a demon to their culture. The Mayans thought that the Europeans were gods, and instead the Europeans killed 18 million native americans within a year. so i think their will be a change, but not the end of the world. maybe as we know it.

Apart from all that, the scientific community knows for a fact that our planet will align will the sun in the year 2012. The results of which are uncertain, but could be catastrophic.

I don’t think it will end then because a ton of people think that it will.
and I’m a Christian.
So only God knows when.

No one can predict the future. We are not God and will never be, so what happens on December 21 2012 is anyone’s guess, not fact.

Okay first of all, this has got to be at least the 6th time I’ve seen this question on here. I’m getting a little sick of it (and I apologize ahead of time if I seem a little bit harsh)
But just because some people predicted the end of the world, it does not mean it will happen.
Nostradamus predicted the end of the world. The Torah supposedly said it would end before 2007.
Once 2012 is done and behind us, people will start talking about the latest predictions about the end of the world. Conclusion? Every single prediction about the end of the world (so far) has been wrong. The only thing that makes this prediction sound credible is the fact that the date hasn’t occured yet. Can we please realize that nobody has successfully predicted the end of the world yet, and nobody ever will?

Do not worry. Do not be scared. I assure you that the world will not end on 2012 December 21 but it will end one day. Remember that if there is a beginning, there is an end.
Nostradamus’ prediction of when the earth will end is far into the future, past about 3700. He still has many prophecies that are not fulfilled yet. This is in agreement with what I heard and learned from the Holy Spirit—that there will only be about 144,000 around AD 2200, peace reigns for a thousand years till around AD 3200, and the release of Satan to test the descendants of the elect for about 500 years, and then the end will come.
The Mayan’s Mesoamerican Long Count calendar forms the basis for a New Age belief, first forecast by Jose Arguelles, that a cataclysm will take place on or about 2012 December 21 (Wikipedia). It will be the end of the Mayan calendar’ 13th Baktun cycle (13.0.0.0.0) to start a new cycle.
In the book of Revelation, it tells us about a period of a thousand years of peace. Has this occurred already since the time of Jesus? Not yet. That will still come. Those that give predictions of the world’s end, such as 2012 and numerous times during the past, are pseudo-preachers. Have they talked to God directly? If so, give proofs.
But there is something that is certain—and that is our physical death. This is what we should prepare for. It may come when least expected. We do not know the day and the hour. It will come like a thief in the night. So we just have to be prepared all the time. Search for the true God and when we find Him, follow His commandments and remain in Him until our last dying breath.
This is all that we have to do. It is faith in the true God that we can take with us when we depart from this world. If we denied Him, He will deny us also before the Father in Heaven and send us to Hell. This is very scary – to live in Hell forever. If we knew Him and loved Him and followed His commandments, then He may reward us to live with Him eternally in His kingdom in Heaven. This is the survival kit that we should have.
Did you know that in his or her boredom, “Thanks for reading this” theorized in Yahoo Answers, Religion & Spirituality section, that 2012 is 20 + 12 = 32, the approximate age of Jesus when He was crucified and died? I answered that when Jesus died, He was really 32 solar years old, equivalent to 33 lunar years. But I repeat, it is not the end of the world yet.
What is also certain to happen very soon (in about 2012 or earlier) is World War III and this is a nuclear war. This “calamitous war” (as Nostradamus called it) will start from the Philippines, at Spratly Islands in particular. The Spratly Islands lie on the southeast part of the South China Sea mostly near the coast of the Philippines. The Holy Spirit told us that the Philippines is the wick of a gas lamp. Once the wick is lit, it will be on and aglow. He told us about this prophecy about two decades ago. He said that the troubles in the Philippines will spread to the whole world until mankind is almost annihilated and a few will remain. Spratly Islands is being claimed wholly by China, Taiwan and Vietnam; and partly by Malaysia, Brunei and the Philippines, It is considered a tinderbox, a flash point. It is very rich in oil and gas resources, more than the reserve of Kuwait. The high price of oil may trigger the grabbing of these islands and start the war.
Four independent prophecies point to the certainty that this will happen. After the calamitous war, then we will have a new age, a spiritual awakening, an enlightenment, and peace for a long time. The population would have been reduced by a third and there will be much arable land that will be available. People will be living in planned cities and communities.
Isaiah 35:4 (KJV) states: “Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; he will come and save you.”
