Mayan Calendar
2012 Ancient Mayan Prophecy
Perhaps that time has not come yet when our, Gods would listen to the beats in our hearts, peace and happiness spread their glow, perhaps we would have to force Mother Time?.
Is There Anyone Out There Who Really Thinks 2012 Is The End Of Times?
I try my best not to! Because if its true I will not be able to go to college and get a career and more! lol I am only 16 and my teacher told me about this! At first a brushed it off like oh it just another Y2k or 6/6/06! But my teacher gives some much proof like the Mayan Calendar and this guy named Nostradamus!? This scares me!

2012 is predicted by some with New Age beliefs to be a great year of spiritual transformation (or alternatively an apocalypse). This is in keeping with an uncodified, eclectic belief system referred to as Mayanism whose roots can be found in 16th century Christian eschatology affecting Maya texts such as the Popol Vuh and the Books of Chilam Balam that were written down after the Spanish Conquest.
I’ll assume it’s another Y2K scam, just like the last five “Nostradamus Predicted Days the World Would End.”
Sounds like your teacher needs to go back to college.
Neither the Mayan Calendar (which never says the world will end in 2012 – the calendar simply runs out of dates, in other words, a new calendar begins) nor Nostradamus (which never mentions the year – I have a copy of his prophecies here at home) is proof of much of anything.
There really is no reason to believe it will all end all of the sudden in 2012. There is nothing happening now that would make you think that.
I wouldn’t worry about it a whole lot if I were you. I can remember talk of the end of time back in 1949 – 1950
Not really, but it might be interesting. It’s good to shake things up every once in a while.
I hope so. The end of the flesh age is a day to celebrate. Look what this sinful flesh has done to us.
Don’t let it scare you God alone knows the future not man.
nobody not even the angles know when time ends so really idk
NO!
i can’t pick either
I have not met any one yet.
One of several Mayan calendars is the Long Count calendar, which is reset to day 0 every 1,872,000 days or 7057.5 years. The next reset date, by some calculations, is December 21, 2012. This is not a prediction of the end of the world.
Ever since the Y2K and 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenarios did not pan out, the scare mongers, conspiracy theorists, book sellers, and television executives have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.
“But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come.” (Mark 13:32-33)
Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.
The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.
The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus’ advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.
Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

With love in Christ.
the Bible doesn’t say the world will end in 2012… the Bible doesn’t name dates….
the Mayan calendar, Nostradamus, the Hopis, the Great Pyramid, the Aztecs all point to 2012… different eras, different countries, different cultures… as a Christian, I find it very interesting that they all indicate that the world will end even though NONE of these comes from a Christian source……….
but sooner or later the end of the world really is coming…… at least, according to the SCIENTISTS…….

Dear I. W. J. Wondering,
I believe people are confusing several ideas . . . the plight of the poorly read and uninformed, perhaps.
You may think this is of interest:
No, there is no proof of any such occurrence(s). So, go ahead and plan your schooling, etc.
There may very well be some VERY strange and dangerous occurrences at that time, thou.
The earth is expecting what is known as a “SOLAR MAXIMUM” in the year 2012.
When the S. M. occurs, there is normally a GEOMAGNETIC STORM of varying degrees.
This occurs cyclically, every 11 years.
When this occurs, AND IF we get a very severe “Plasma Storm” due to the CORONAL MASS EJECTION, then YES, it could knock out all “Modern Communications Equipment” and even our Power Grids.
If it knocks out our Power Grids, not only will the Internet disappear but all electrical power in the effected areas.
Basically, it would put us in the Stone Age again, “Technologically Speaking”.
The pertinent problem is that we have absolutely no way of predicting the magnitude of the Plasma Storm, and thus guard against it without shutting down EVERYTHING electrical at the time of the Solar Maximum.
I took your question seriously, so I have answered it truthfully, and provided information that you can access in order to find more actual scientific information on the subject(s).
This is nothing new. It has occurred before and is historically documented. There was, however, not as much “fragile electronics” at that time (q.v.).
So, unless you own an Electronics Company, Power Company, Computer that you are very reliant upon and such . . . . no need to worry . . .
Be Well!
